ALL INDIA LAW SEMINAR ON ‘ENSURING SOCIAL SECURITY IN A GLOBALIZED ERA: ROLE OF CORPORATE & LEGAL WORLD ’, NEW DELHI. Date : 16-11-2007
The Legal Assistance Forum organized its third Annual Seminar and All India Law Students’ Competition on ‘Ensuring Social Security in a Globalized Era: Role of Corporate & Legal World’ on 16th November 2007 at ISIL Auditorium, New Delhi.
Law Students Competition
As prelude to the seminar, an All India Law Students Competition was conducted in the morning session. 12 short listed teams comprising of two students each made oral presentation on their respective papers, which was selected by a panel of judges from the 42 entries received from various colleges from all over India. Three topics given in advance for presentation were:
Removal of starvation deaths – responsibility of Corporate World
Poverty alleviation by 2020
Legal Aid – a myth or reality

The 12 selected teams made their presentation before an emient panel of judges consisting of Hon’ble Mr. Justice P.V.Reddi, former Judge, Supreme Court of India & Chairperson, Authority for Advance Ruling, Prof. M.L.Upadhay, Vice President, Amity Law School and Mrs. Usha Tandon, Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, Delhi University
Each oral presentation was followed by a question-answer round that displayed the level of understanding and insight gathered by each participant on the topic. The deliberations reflected that sensitization of budding lawyers towards social responsibility, the motive behind organizing the competition, was fulfilled in the right way. This fact was appreciated by the panel of judges as the participants came out with innovative practical suggestions ably backed by ample research and well oriented outlook.
